Looking back at the Best Moments of The British Shooting Show 2026

As the first shooting show of the year, every year there is a huge expectation for the British Shooting Show to deliver. This year, it certainly did!
First to get the award thing out of the way - being nominated as finalist for the Media Contributor Award 2026 was a personal win for me, just to be included in the line up as the only female! And even though I didn't win the award - being nominated alongside my hero Andy Crow was a lifetime achievement as far as I was concerned.

However; even more fun than the award hype, was being invited to sit on the industry pane at the Cookery stage with Ralph from The Butlers Pantry.
Whilst waiting for our Tuscan-style pigeon breast to be cooked and served, myself and the other panellists discussed how the shooting industry is changing, pest control, shooting permissions, shooting certification, and how we should be helping others into the sport.
For me it is especially important that we give a leg up to newbies, no matter their age/background/gender (not all newbies are kids), by not being selfish with advice or greedy with permission. Much more to come on this subject later in the year...

I enjoyed talking to so many people at the show, and meeting new faces - I had a chat on camera with Twelve Bore about his sustainable clothing range.
I loved that here was a man who had started out with a passion to create a well made clothing range for WOMEN in the field, eventually realising he had to add a couple of items for the men too!
And even though the range is out of my budget (because I prefer to spend that money on rifles!) it is still great to see, and lovely to celebrate with new country focused business owners as they begin their business journey in our fieldsports world.

I absolutely loved meeting so many of you on the HikMicro stand this year! Sharing stories from out in the field, different equipment we all use, our dogs and the shared love of watching them work (and the shared frustration when they're being idiots!) Working with HikMicro has been an absolute blessing this past year, and I'm looking forward to continuing this partnership as they bring out amazing new products, and make plans to start filming with them this year - watch this space...
The vote for the best country show in the UK is down to individual preference. Whichever you have the time, money and the inclination to visit it's completely up to you. If you have time and funds and enjoy the social vibes as much as I do, then you need to visit as many as possible in my opinion - I get something different from all of the big shows in the UK. I'm just glad that this year, The British Shooting Show upped the anti, offering free parking, great field to fork demos showcasing all types of game, and engaging with their audience more - I look forward to seeing what the new owners bring next year.
Now, while I eagerly await The Stalking Show 2026, I'll be getting back to my scriptwriting, book writing and deer stalking to manage numbers as effectively as possible before the new season starts in April.
