What does the Stalking Show have to offer?

What is The Stalking Show?
The Stalking Show is a self-described show for hunters built by hunters, and since my first time at the show in 2023, working on the Katie Hargreaves fine art stand, I would have to agree.
What struck me initially that first year was how different the people looked. I had lways felt slightly out of place at some other shows, dressed in my camo and combats. But here, I fitted right in; a hunter amongst other hunters. I loved how the owners David and Deanne would walk around talking to everyone, checking that everything was ok, and if it wasn't they wanted to know why, so that they could fix it straight away. They were friendly, enthusiastic and would get involved in everything, even their own deer calling competitions on stage.
And the dogs - so many dogs! And so many different breeds compared to what I was used to seeing. Not your standard spaniel and labrador crowd here - there were true hunting dogs, HPR's, terriers and more. Now, I enjoy visiting the show as a customer more and more every year - every year it falls on my birthday and every year it gets better!
What will you find there?
There are so many different types of products to buy - everything you can think of that you might need for deer stalking in any UK environment. Clothing, rifles, hunting knives, walking sticks (for hunting in the highlands and across vast moors), chilled game meat storage and so much more. They also have events throughout the weekend such as:
deer calling competition
wild meat butchery demonstrations
speaker events and debates
auctions
first aid in the field demos
awards ceremonies
And most importantly - you'll find a community of friendly, knowledgeable people.
What should you bring?
Well, it's less 'what' you should bring (except comfortable footwear), and more like 'who' to bring.
I'm talking about bringing new people who haven't been introduced to the world of fieldsports of course - and if you are one of those newcomers - then welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at the show next year!
Thanks to people in the shooting community, the UK economy is boosted by circa £3.3 billion, with a further £9.3 billion generated by the many wider activities related to fieldsports (source BASC); so ultimately the more we can grow this community the more we are helping to grow our economy. So bring your friends next year!
This year I finally joined the British Deer Society as a member, a charity that I am proud to support and I am looking forward to being involved more throughput 2026/27 in their events. If you would like to get more info about the charity check out their website here.
If you would like to get involved in The Stalking Show 2027 as an exhibitor, contributor or visitor you can get in touch with the show directly here. You can also view a short reel of my time at The Stalking Show 2026 here.
In the meantime:
